Today is your day Boomer! As the title of this blog implies, Carpe Diem Boomers! This is the old "Latin phrase, which literally means "pluck the day," which was used by the Roman poet Horace to express the idea that we should enjoy life while we can."(Google) Why? Think about it Boomers; you actually don't have that long to live. If you look at Canadian averages, a young Boomer has about two decades left; an older person around age 80 may only have a few years. Hmmmmm...shocking, isn't it? Also with medical evidence, this age range(60's and 70's) has a lot of issues: cancer, heart disease, hip surgeries etc. And...I read this advice in a seniors' magazine awhile back: the 60's are your GO years, 70's are GO SLOWER, 80's are GO IF ABLE and 90's are NO GO. Sorry to remind you, but we need to seize the day Boomers....it is retirement for most of us, and time to spread our wings. Cheers!
