Today is your day Boomer! Here it is...come and get it, whether you like it or not, I AM BACK! The B.C. Blog Boomer took a sabbatical from writing and is now refreshed and ready to go...ready for topics of value to Baby Boomers, aged 62-80, as of 2026. Topics like travel, exercise, retirement, food, health, music, sports, games, books and life in general. Boomers, we are getting older....but do we feel old? I think not! This blog, I hope, will encourage you to make the most of every day. Take me, for example: today includes news and sports reading, a historical novel read, hot tub, writing a blog, two hours of vigorous pickleball, 3 hours of high school basketball refereeing and bridge in the evening! That's a very full slate, and boy, will I feel good and tired at the end of the day. Sleeping will not be a problem, and neither will boredom! Do it Boomers....don't waste away your day on social media and napping; get out there and LIVE! Cheers to us!!

It is backward walking and the trend-often associated with the 1980s-is making a return as grey-haired wonders, like you and I, look for new-or-newish ideas to help keep us fit! According to cbc.ca, "walking backwards has shown that there's less impact on the joints by using these different muscles — and it can increase flexibility and even help alleviate back pain." One 62-year-old Boomer says "Every time I walk, I just do a little twirl and walk backwards for a bit, and I'll do it just a few times during my walk." It may look a little unusual and may get a few laughs from passersby....by consider the actual benefits.
