Today is your day Boomer! Do you check the weather forecast and Drive BC before leaving on mountain highway driving trips? It appears that many people-including some Boomers-do not because the highways yesterday were just a big mess and the pictures I saw online showed quite a bit of traffic! There were mass mud and waterslides, all related to an "atmospheric river" which was predicted by qualified meteorologists many days before. You could see what was coming and yet you still tried to drive through it. Dumb! Many people got trapped in their vehicles and it really was quite dangerous. Same goes for earlier in the week when a huge snowfall was predicted on the Coquihalla Highway and the actual amount of snow that fell was double.....some people died on the road that day. Don't you get it? Your life is not worth it and remember we often drive with family members and close friends. You are endangering them as well. Boomers, or whoever you are, give your head a shake....a BIG shake, and smarten up! It is winter in the mountains; please respect it and drive on another day. Cheers...
Today is your day Boomer! And today is another day for wining......and I don't mean complaining. I mean drinking some pressed grapes and enjoying the health benefits. That's right, drinking alcohol is good for you. First, let's state the obvious....only in moderate amounts: two glasses per day for men and one for women. Research shows the following positive health effects: (1) reduces risk of Alzheimer's and Parkinson disease (2) is an anti-flammatory(white wine is better for this) (3) decreases risk of high blood pressure and high cholesterol(red wine is a better choice) (4) good for mental health, may increase age longevity, may promote healthy gut bacteria. All of this sounds good and much of it boils down to the antioxidants which are higher in red wine. It seems reds--like Merlot, Cab Sav, and Shiraz--have been studied more.....which means more research is needed on whites. Boomers, maybe we could volunteer for a new study! Cheers!
