Today is your day Boomer! We all know the term "glamping"....that is, glamorous camping, but do you know what "bleisure" is? Well, a good guess would be a combination of business with leisure. For example, taking a business trip to the Bahamas and tacking on a few extra days of holiday time while you are there! Or, as the picture shows, working remotely from a beautiful beach and combining the two activities at the same time. We can do this now as many jobs can be done completely on-line, and as long as you have good control over your laptop microphone and camera....no one will ever find out! Great idea Boomers, as many of us have part-time work, and let's face it....we love to recreate! The term "bleisure" was actually invented in 2009 by some travel expert, but it actually applies even even more nowadays as the world pivots and tries to work through a continuing pandemic. The share of business trips that include a weekend has increased 23 percentage points to 38 per cent since 2019, according to corporate travel manager TripActions Inc. And apparently, bleisure travellers pick Thursday as their most-used flight day, so they can work Friday and than relax on the weekend at their preferred vacation location. Makes sense. Boomers, let's try it. Cheers.
Today is your day Boomer! And today is another day for wining......and I don't mean complaining. I mean drinking some pressed grapes and enjoying the health benefits. That's right, drinking alcohol is good for you. First, let's state the obvious....only in moderate amounts: two glasses per day for men and one for women. Research shows the following positive health effects: (1) reduces risk of Alzheimer's and Parkinson disease (2) is an anti-flammatory(white wine is better for this) (3) decreases risk of high blood pressure and high cholesterol(red wine is a better choice) (4) good for mental health, may increase age longevity, may promote healthy gut bacteria. All of this sounds good and much of it boils down to the antioxidants which are higher in red wine. It seems reds--like Merlot, Cab Sav, and Shiraz--have been studied more.....which means more research is needed on whites. Boomers, maybe we could volunteer for a new study! Cheers!
