Today is your day Boomer! Some of these new electric bikes are 80 pounds heavy....and many belong to Boomers, who use them for exercise and sometimes struggle to lift them onto their car bike carriers. Need a solution? A Vernon, BC man has just invented the Lift Caddy...a kind of "electric bike elevator" for the back of your vehicle! According to Global News, "to install the Lift Caddy, all you need is a hitch on the back of your vehicle and an electric trailer light housing. Sean Hannigan designed his invention to be attachable to already existing bike racks to make it even easier for people to use." So, it sounds very user-friendly and maybe just what you need if you have back, neck or shoulder issues and you can't do much heavy lifting. It also allows you to take your bike to different locations for more fun rides....and you can take more than one bike. How much? 650 dollars, but maybe for you it will be worth it. Check out more info and videos at liftcaddy.ca Cheers and happy biking Boomers!
Today is your day Boomer! Relaxing in my hot tub this morning, I had reflections of the 1970 CCR song "Lookin' out my Back Door". Yes, that kind of druggy, but catchy song, about the view of your backyard. Mine is spectacular: colourful sunrises, big ponderosa pines, cheer, apple, fir, and weeping willow trees, two mountains, sheep and chickens next door, two frolicking golden retrievers, beautiful green grass and what seems like a thousand birds...including quail, pheasant, chickadees, woodpeckers, and blue jays. And what else? Well....the quiet, the solitude, and the chance for reflection with no sirens, car noise, yelling people, or neighbours invading your privacy. It was...is...just beautiful, and I am so blessed to live in a rural area in BC's Okanagan Valley. Boomers, what's out your back door? John Fogerty's "tangerines and elephants" or something like my cheeries and coyotes? Check it out and appreciate the little things in life. Cheers...
