Today is your day Boomer! This new "AI" world is pretty scary, isn't it? The pros and cons of artificial intelligence are numerous....just ask any teacher whose students are using it more and more frequently....but here is one big POSITIVE! AI is being used to recreate the long-dead voice of The Beatles' John Lennon and the result will be a NEW and LAST Beatles' song! Yup, to be released later this year according to Lennon sidekick Paul McCartney: "It's a very interesting thing, it's something we're all sort of tackling at the moment and trying to deal with; it is kind of scary, but exciting because it's the future." What the AI technical experts did was to isolate John's voice from an old cassette recording dating back to 1969....releasing his voice from other background noises like a piano. Yes! No word on the name of the new song coming out, but some predictions are a song called "Then and Now" which was a demo song Lennon was working on during the "Get Back" album. We'll see, looking forward to it, and Boomers, I look forward....hopefully....to a better world with the advancement of AI. Cheers!
Today is your day Boomer! And today is another day for wining......and I don't mean complaining. I mean drinking some pressed grapes and enjoying the health benefits. That's right, drinking alcohol is good for you. First, let's state the obvious....only in moderate amounts: two glasses per day for men and one for women. Research shows the following positive health effects: (1) reduces risk of Alzheimer's and Parkinson disease (2) is an anti-flammatory(white wine is better for this) (3) decreases risk of high blood pressure and high cholesterol(red wine is a better choice) (4) good for mental health, may increase age longevity, may promote healthy gut bacteria. All of this sounds good and much of it boils down to the antioxidants which are higher in red wine. It seems reds--like Merlot, Cab Sav, and Shiraz--have been studied more.....which means more research is needed on whites. Boomers, maybe we could volunteer for a new study! Cheers!
