Today is your day Boomer! I admit I enjoy a nice glass of red wine before dinner....but I don't get headaches from it. However, many Boomers do, so they may consume white wine or other drinks to socialize or pair with food. A new study tells us why red wine hurts our brains. According to CNN, red wine contains this plant compound: "Flavonols. The most studied flavonols are quercetin, myricetin, and fisetin. Flavonols are linked to many health benefits, including a lower risk of heart disease. They’re found in Lettuce,Tomatoes, Onions, Kale, Apples, Grapes, Berries, Tea, and Red wine." More testing needs to be done apparently...using human subjects. I'll volunteer!! Oh, if you still like wine but don't want the headaches....drink white wine or cheaper red wine which contains less flavonol, about 8 times less for white wine! Cheers.

It may look a little unusual and may get a few laughs from passersby....by consider the actual benefits. Clinical exercise specialist André Noël Potvin says "When you start to walk backwards, you actually start to rebalance the forces around the ankle, knee, hip and lower back." This really helps Boomers recovering from knee surgery and older Boomers who are havi...
