Today is your day Boomer! I woke up this morning to a new Beatles' song! Yup, that's right. An original song from the Fab Four from 1970 with the very-familiar voice of John Lennon singing and the band in the background doing their usual thing. John and George, we know, are long gone...but with a little help of AI, we are getting a new song that was never released and wasn't usuable in its original form. According to CBC News, "This is not a fake John Lennon created by a computer," said Michael McCarty, the CEO of Kilometre Music Group. "This is the real John Lennon whose voice was basically buried in tape hiss and a wobbly piano on an old demo. And so what they've been able to do is extract his vocal and make it a pure, clean vocal as if he had recorded it today." And a bonus for Boomer listeners is the "B" side of the the record, massive 1962 hit "Love Me Do" is there for our ears. And...I like it, I like the new song! It is very John Lennon in solo style, but as drummer Ringo Starr says "This is the last track, ever, that you'll get the four Beatles on the track. John, Paul, George, and Ringo." Check it out Boomers, it is on YouTube....and enjoy. Cheers!
Today is your day Boomer! Relaxing in my hot tub this morning, I had reflections of the 1970 CCR song "Lookin' out my Back Door". Yes, that kind of druggy, but catchy song, about the view of your backyard. Mine is spectacular: colourful sunrises, big ponderosa pines, cheer, apple, fir, and weeping willow trees, two mountains, sheep and chickens next door, two frolicking golden retrievers, beautiful green grass and what seems like a thousand birds...including quail, pheasant, chickadees, woodpeckers, and blue jays. And what else? Well....the quiet, the solitude, and the chance for reflection with no sirens, car noise, yelling people, or neighbours invading your privacy. It was...is...just beautiful, and I am so blessed to live in a rural area in BC's Okanagan Valley. Boomers, what's out your back door? John Fogerty's "tangerines and elephants" or something like my cheeries and coyotes? Check it out and appreciate the little things in life. Cheers...
