Today is your day Boomer! You know we may be a little older, but we haven't lost our creativity Boomers! We do a lot of cool stuff like woodworking and painting, but, maybe just maybe, we can do more on-line....like on video channels. According to YouTube Canada, "As part of the digital generation, millennials and gen z have always been known as trendsetters, but they're not the only ones making it big on YouTube. From travelling and woodworking to quilting and mixology, baby boomers and retirees are turning their passions and hobbies into content creation opportunities. They're part of a growing creator ecosystem in Canada, that's contributing significantly to the local creative economy." Oh, nice. Maybe watch some of their examples....like the one in this picture. Others include "Thrift Store Makeovers", "Mastering the 1/4 inch Seam", "Deddy's Kitchen" and "Glen and Friends". Don't like YouTube? Try Instagram or even blogging like I do. In other words Boomers, try something different and maybe challenge yourself in the high-tech world this year! You can do it. Cheers!
Today is your day Boomer! Relaxing in my hot tub this morning, I had reflections of the 1970 CCR song "Lookin' out my Back Door". Yes, that kind of druggy, but catchy song, about the view of your backyard. Mine is spectacular: colourful sunrises, big ponderosa pines, cheer, apple, fir, and weeping willow trees, two mountains, sheep and chickens next door, two frolicking golden retrievers, beautiful green grass and what seems like a thousand birds...including quail, pheasant, chickadees, woodpeckers, and blue jays. And what else? Well....the quiet, the solitude, and the chance for reflection with no sirens, car noise, yelling people, or neighbours invading your privacy. It was...is...just beautiful, and I am so blessed to live in a rural area in BC's Okanagan Valley. Boomers, what's out your back door? John Fogerty's "tangerines and elephants" or something like my cheeries and coyotes? Check it out and appreciate the little things in life. Cheers...
