Today is your day Boomer! Yes, Boomers, we are getting to that age when our hearing starts to decline. For most of us, it is gradual...mild to moderate hearing loss, but it can be life changing. Check out the prices for prescription hearing aids....thousands of dollars, and even Costco specials are expensive, albeit cheaper. How about a new small idea from a big old company instead? Apple says it is readying over-the-counter, inexpensive Air Buds for people with mild-to-moderate hearing problems. Apple said its hearing aid feature will boost frequencies “so sounds are clearer and more vibrant to your ears.” The company also said the feature will use “machine learning to make real-time adjustments as you go about your day.”(CTV News) They are called Apple AirPods Pro2 and they cost only $329 Canadian. Sounds good, right? Cheaper, no need for a prescription, avoid ear doctor costs, can play music for you too, and look kind of stylish(see picture). Negatives: not available in Canada yet, you still have to take a hearing test, they look kind of big and clunky compared to normal hearing aids, they are not for severe hearing loss, and battery life is only 3-6 hours compared to "days" for real hearing aids. Boomers, maybe worth a try?! Cheers...

But rather than focusing on the negatives of his downfall, I want to share with you my Dad's many contributions to my life. Speaking of that, he taught me the importance of a strong work ethic and a good education. All his kids have university degrees or trades tickets. He showed me the supreme importance of family gatherings, how to flyfish...even when he was colour blind....how to use tools, play high-level bridge, eat organic foods, he taught me how to drive....even though I ruined the transmission on our old car....he showed me how to sail, save and invest money, have an appreciation for nature, he was a role model for me as I moved through heart/s
